Poem : The Fall of Denethor
I’m BACK! Again!
Oh wow, so much has been going on in the past month or so…I moved to the other side of the country, and will not have access to any tablets or scanners or any drawing thingamabobs for at least until October. So no art for a month.
I DO, however, have a computer (obviously), and so can post poetry and stories and stuff.
In fact, one of the reasons I’ve been too busy to post is that I’m working on an actual fantasy story right now. But I’d like to wait until it’s all done, then post one part a day over a couple of weeks or so, and then you won’t have to wait, like, once a week for a post.
Anyway, in the meantime, I wrote a poem about Denethor, inspired by the song Aragorn and Legolas sing when Boromir dies.
Down from the West the Great Wind blows
Beating down on walls of stone
Bringing news the West Wind knows
To ear of lord on his white throne.
‘O Wind’, cries he, ‘Show thy fair head,
What of my son, O Wind of West?’
The Wind replies ‘Your son is dead,
For many arrows pierce his chest.’
For days and nights the lord did grieve
Upon his land fell blood and war
His young son’s life did try to thieve
The lord of stone then lived no more.
The days went by, the war was won
The darkness driven from the land
The true heir rose upon the throne
And tall and faithful did he stand.
